Construction Begins on the 1st House at The Pinnacle
Excavation has begun on the block of land (Lot 101) for the first house at ‘The Pinnacle’ estate in Wollongong. This exciting milestone for the estate is set to provide an example of the standard of home future purchasers can expect when they decide to acquire a property at ‘The Pinnacle’.

Registration of Subdivision
The Lands and Property Management Authority today registered the Linen Plan for Stage 1 of ‘The Pinnacle’ estate in Wollongong. This means lands sales that have occurred at ‘The Pinnacle’ Estate will be able to settle in four weeks time.
Plaque Dedication Ceremony - Mary Davis Avenue (17/3/11)
On the 17th of March a Plaque Dedication Ceremony was held in honour of Mary Davis, the namesake of Mary Davis Avenue. Aunty Mary, as she was fondly known by the local Aboriginal Community, was a tireless worker for the rights of Aboriginal People. Some of Aunty Mary's most significant achievements include co founding the Illawarra Aboriginal Advancement League who campaigned in the lead up to the 1967 referendum for recognition of Aboriginal people as citizens as well as establishing their right to vote, the league also secured some of the first housing in the Illawarra for Aboriginal people. Aunty Mary was also instrumental in helping to establish the Illawarra Aboriginal Corporation and served as the chairperson for the Illawarra Aboriginal Land Council.
The plaque was unveiled by Mr David Farmer - General Manager, Wollongong City Council, and the ceremony was also attended by Ms Anna Watson - the current Member for Shellharbour who was at the time representing Ms Lylea Mcmahon the former member for Shellharbour, Mr Richard Davis and Mr Robert Davis - Mary Davis' Sons, Mr Michael Sheargold - representing the Sheargold Group, other representatives of Wollongong City Council and the consultants, contractors and agents who helped create the subdivision.
The plaque can be viewed on Mary Davis Avenue near the Detention Basin.
